Task 3

VIDEO INSTALLATION PROPOSAL

POINT OF VIEW

Point of View is a personal video installation which represent a view on a friend from college. This installation represents two side of human beings, a side which is displayed on the outside and the inside. As human beings are insecure depending on their surroundings people will only show a side which suits best to their environment. This is to feel apart of their friend groups and family members to not be shown off as unorthodox.

My audience is aimed at teenagers over the age 16. As puberty hits, teenagers hormones and other stigmas are released and therefore felts as abnormal. At this age teenagers have an increase of emotions and therefore feel that everything needs to be perfect for them to feel normal. As they are judged and hit with different types of emotions, they play a role to make them feel normal, whether this role makes them feel comfortable or not, they will always act and not be themselves. This video installation will show that you should act like yourself and not portray yourself as another person. It doesn’t matter how people look at you rather than you should feel comfortable the way you are and no one should change that.

I will be streaming this at the college projectors. I believe this will be appropriate as college tends to have student ages 16-18. I believe this will help the students as they would be amused on the portrayal of my video installation.
